In addition to my academic and research work, I also practice as a textile designer. I founded BTARI, a fashion accessories brand based in Bandung, Indonesia, from 2010 to 2016. BTARI explored the beauty of Indonesian craftsmanship by combining handmade tie-dye textiles with genuine leather. Each piece was thoughtfully designed to reflect a modern aesthetic while drawing inspiration from traditional patterns and techniques.
The collection was produced in small batches, focusing on quality, uniqueness, and storytelling through material and form. Through BTARI, I aimed to bridge heritage and innovation—bringing artisanal methods into contemporary fashion design.
